I’ve gotta admit that I was a little intimidated by the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym upon first sight. It just looks so high tech and, well, busy! After more research I’ve come to realize that while the Bowflex Blaze is definitely high tech and a state-of-the-art little piece of workout machinery, it’s also easy to use and convenient.
What You Get
Obviously, you get the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym, but what exactly does that mean for you? Lots of great things actually! At risk of sounding cheesy, this is one fine piece of machinery! This one machine enables you to perform more than 60 exercises for a total body workout. By exercises, I’m not just talking about some lame movements like some of the cheap workout equipment tries to pass off as exercises, but rather proper exercises like those that you would be able to perform in a gym if you had access to an entire floor of weight machines. Yes, it’s that versatile. In total the Power Rod technology provides 210lbs of resistance so you can enjoy a light workout to something more hardcore depending on your goals.
Some of the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym’s other features:
- Various cable and pulley positions to help you customize your workout
- A leg curl and leg extension attachment for an awesome leg workout
- A squat station to help you work out your hamstrings, quads, and glutes
- An angled bat on the lat tower for working the back and shoulders
- A seat on rails that slides for doing leg presses and even rowing
- Hand grips and ankle cuffs for varied uses.
- A placard that shows you the Bowflex 20 Minute Workout, step-by-step

What’s Power Rod Technology Anyway?
The ads and infomercials for the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym continuously reference their revolutionary “Power Rod Technology”. What they’re referring to are those rods that you see on the machine that make it look different from other weight machines. These rods are responsible for providing the resistance that raises the intensity of your work out. While other machines use weight plates to do this, the Bowflex Blade uses these Power Rod units.
The Power Rods are exclusive to Bowflex and are promised to be so strong that they can’t be worn out. The testing has gone into these Power Rods (they’re tested 4 times each!) along with strict quality control measures ensure that they stay strong so they never lose their ability to provide resistance, and that they don’t break. And, Bowflex totally stands behind their technology and quality by offering a no-time limit warranty! Seriously! They will replace the machine for free if you ever break or wear down the Power Rods on your machine. Not a bad deal at all, is it!

Upgrading for More Weight
If you’re looking for some hardcore training and don’t feel that the 210lbs of resistance is enough, you have the option to upgrade it for more weight. What People Are Saying
Like with most of the Bowflex products, the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym has been getting great reviews for the most part. If you check out popular shopping sites, you’ll notice that the product has usually got a 5 star rating thanks to the reviews left. Impressive and just what you want to read when you’re on the hunt for a workout machine or home gym like I am.
According to many of the reviews I came across, this baby delivers just what it says which is amazing results with only a short amount of time spent working out each week. One review in particular got my attention for not only being kinda’ funny (seriously, so funny!) but also because it shows first hand just how little time you need to spend using this gym to see results. He wrote:
“I have been using this machine 3 times a week for 30 minutes each morning. I think it has transformed my body by toning up my muscles and trimming my waste-line without turning me into a neckless geek.”
Another positive review that really got to me was one from a diabetic who was tipping the scales at 300lbs and was very unhealthy when he decided to change his life and order the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym. He wrote:
“Results started showing up immediately. I got stronger, lost weight — in fact fifty pounds so far, and was able to stop using insulin. When my blood sugar gets too high, ten vigorous minutes on the Bowflex brings it back down. I feel better than I have for about three or four years.”
It’s hard not to be impressed by reviews like that!
Warranties and Guarantees
Along with the no-time limit warranty on the Power Rods that I already mentioned, the Bowflex Blaze Home Gym also comes with a 5 year limited warranty on construction in which it guarantees commercial grade construction for those 5 years.
Any negative Points?
The one and only consistent negative comment that I came across while researching the product was that the leg exercises don’t work as well as they’d hoped. For one it was a matter of being too tall for the machine and the others didn’t specify what the deal was. Overall though, the ones who commented on this con also made a point of mentioning that they were still, in fact, very happy with the machine.
