I looked at purchasing a treadmill for quite some time and one of the treadmills that I just had to look into was the Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill. The features of this treadmill are what made me have to learn more. A lot of people love the ease of the incline the way it easily inclines to mimic walking up hill. There are so many adjustments on this machine that it allows you to either take a leisurely stroll or a nice little jog so that it’s really versatile for you and anyone in your household. It’s great for a warm up and cool down or just when you want to burn a few calories and take it easy for the day.
I wanted to share my research with you so you can be better informed on the qualities and features of the Merit 725T Plus Treadmill. It might just be what you are looking for too!
What to Look for When Buying a Treadmill
There are some extremely important points to look at whenever you are shopping for a treadmill. They are:
- The safety shut off
- Running ability
- Incline ability
- Noise
- Storage
These are all important things to consider and what you should be looking for in a treadmill.
The Safety Shut Off
There are very few things in this world that will hurt more than falling onto a moving treadmill. I think getting hit by a moving car might rank up there with it but not by much. Falling on a treadmill can cause major injury. That is why it is extremely important to remember that when you purchase a treadmill, be sure to buy one that has a safety shut off mechanism. On the Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill, the safety shut off is attached to the machine with a magnet making it extremely useful. If it separates from the treadmill, the treadmill stops immediately.
Running Ability
Some treadmills are made for running on and some are not. You can run on the Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill at a speed of up to 10 miles per hour which is actually quite fast unless you are sprinter. This treadmill is so comfortable to run on. It has an Aerosoft cushioning system that you can definitely feel every time your foot hits the belt. It’s almost like running on a cloud.
The belt area gives you 18” by 45” so most people will be able to run at their normal stride on the Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill.
Incline Ability
When purchasing a treadmill, you always want to look at the treadmill’s ability to incline to the level that you are wanting. The Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill has 10 different incline settings that you can adjust from the keypad even during your workout. Some of the pre-programmed workouts also take advantage of the treadmill’s ability to automatically adjust the incline with the intensity of the workout chosen.
Can You Hear It?
Not really and that’s a good thing! The noise level of the Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill is kept to a minimum. The 2.25 THP motor that drives the belt really is a quiet little devil. You hear the pounding of your feet while running more than you do the treadmill. This makes it nice for using the machine while watching television because you won’t have to have the volume blasting to hear what is being said over the machine.
Storage
I have an exercise room that I would put my Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill in but a lot of people use their exercise machines in their living room or bedroom so storage can be a deciding factor when looking to buy a treadmill. This treadmill is not as small as a lot of the models out there but if I were you and could get it to fit, I’d buy it. The unit is 31” wide, 53” high and 34” deep when folded up. That’s still a bit large but it can fit into a corner if you don’t want to leave it out all of the time.
How Much Should You Expect to Pay?
The Merit Fitness 725T Plus Treadmill is a nicely priced treadmill for the features that you are getting. It is available on Amazon.com’s website for $399.00 with the free super saver shipping. The original Amazon price was $499.00 so it’s currently on sale.
